A Message from Staten Island SBDC Director Dean L. Balsamini:
I have known and worked with George since 2010, when he moved back to our area from living in Florida, and I hired him for an advisor position working at the SBDC in Staten Island. Over the years, we became not just colleagues, but good friends as we developed our SBDC footprint in Staten Island and Brooklyn, and shared each other’s lives and consoled each other’s losses.
George was a charming, teddy bear of a man with a huge heart and a zany personality, loved all kinds of food, especially pizza; he loved to cook and loved his job and our team and his clients, who loved him as well. Judging by the condolences locally, and around the state, he was definitely beloved by all.
Our team is devastated by the loss of a good man, with a gentle soul and spirit, and we’ll miss him, but we’ll never forget George and his pleasant smile for everyone. He is one of a kind.
